Civitas Institute Public Policy Series
The purpose of the Civitas Institute Public Policy Series is to equip the legislator, as well as the layman, with the tools necessary to understand public policy in North Carolina. Guides contain information on key issues dating back to 1985. Issues include: State Budget, Education, Healthcare and Transportation.
Budget & Taxes
To ensure opportunity and prosperity for all North Carolinians, government interference with the economic interactions of society must be reduced. This includes cutting state government budgets, lowering taxes, eliminating cronyism and reducing regulations.
Education
Civitas believes that the best path to improve our children’s education is through expanding school choice. Empowering parents to choose the best educational choice for their children makes schools responsive to the needs of students, not bureaucrats and politicians in Raleigh and DC.
Elections
The integrity of elections is vital to a healthy democracy. Civitas continues to work to improve the election process in North Carolina to ensure every vote is legitimate.
Miscellaneous
Civitas covers several other issues affecting North Carolinians, including: energy, criminal justice, government accountability, etc.
