If Gary Bartlett is willing to sacrifice his reputation and the reputation of the State Board of Elections by hiring, protecting and defending four inexperienced, unqualified, old hometown friends, what will he do to protect the people that give him money and power? The people who provide him with money and power are Governor Perdue, the Democrat legislature who writes election law and the Chairman of the Board of Elections, Larry Leake.
Oh, Governor Perdue says she is keeping an eye on the Board, but, how can we expect Perdue to step in and investigate the Board of Elections when she is being investigated by the Board?
The agenda for the next State Board of Elections meeting includes the entry “Report and possible action on air travel of 2004 and 2008 gubernatorial candidates.”
When the investigation into Perdue’s campaign is complete and the Governor is exonerated (or maybe gets a slap on the wrist), she most certainly will be obliged to reward the Board of Elections and its Director for thwarting the inquiry into her campaign’s finance practices.
The meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2010 – Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel, 31 Woodfin Street, Asheville, N.C.

Glad to see the meeting will be held in Asheville. Hopefully, that means that Larry Leake will not need a private plane to this meeting. We don’t need to worry about Gary Bartlett’s transportation since we know he likes to carpool.

You have got to be kidding me! What a joke the meeting was and they don’t think the public is noticing?
Their arrogance does not cease to amaze me while even slipping in yet another way to add inactive voters to the rolls. The only reason to have more inactive voters would be to cheat.
