Worried about the economy, jobs and wages?
Not to worry, there is one major corporation that is growing, thriving, and I suspect hiring. In fact, roughly one in five workers in this corporation earns six figures – miraculously up from one in every seven during the last 18 months of recession.
“Progressives” take note, however: it seems the rich are getting richer in this greedy corporation. In one department, workers earning more than $150,000 rose by a whopping 440% – in yet another department there was only one worker making more than $170,000 a year and a half ago, but that ballooned to 1,690 during this recession.
Is this some company filled with Wall St. fat-cats cashing in obscene bonus money or big oil reaping windfall profits?
Of course not, silly. It’s the federal government.
Federal employees making salaries of $100,000 or more jumped from 14% to 19% of civil servants during the recession’s first 18 months — and that’s before overtime pay and bonuses are counted.
Federal workers are enjoying an extraordinary boom time — in pay and hiring — during a recession that has cost 7.3 million jobs in the private sector.
Yet again the ruling class uses force to extract dwindling resources from its subjects to help enrich themselves.
