“The accusation of racism is a sign of desperation by people who know they are losing the national debate and they want to hurl the ultimate charge in American politics… it is a disgusting tactic; it’s done as a way to end the debate. The minute you call someone a racist, the debate is over.” “It is a deliberate attempt to change the subject and discredit the opposition…” – Charles Krauthammer
Bob Hall of Democracy NC made the racism accusation in an article he wrote on why he thinks requiring an ID to vote is not a good idea.
Voter ID: Setting the Record Straight was written as part warning and part encouragement to the new majorities in the State House and State Senate. Bob Hall’s article, filled with unsubstantiated data and absurd allegations made my point.
For over 100 years, liberals and far-left groups who lobby for liberal election laws “owned” the North Carolina General Assembly. So, we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that North Carolina is a leader in liberal election laws and practices. I hope that the “new legislature” is open to listening to another point of view now.
The majority of North Carolinians want Election Reform in the name of a Voter ID requirement – it only makes sense.
