There has been plenty of coverage of the raid by Chapel Hill police on protestors squatting at an abandoned building just off the UNC Chapel Hill campus. See articles here and here.
Yesterday The Daily Tar Heel, the student newspaper of UNC Chapel Hill posted a video about the incident. The video provides a sympathetic view of protestors as well as the unvarnished wisdom of Michal Osterweil (See clip below). Osterweil a lecturer in Global Studies (What does one do with a degree in Global Studies?) seems to question the right of the building’s owner to defend his property from trespassers. Scary stuff. Watching the far left agitate is bad enough; knowing we’re paying people who advocate such lunacy is even worse.

So Mr. Osterweil would have no problems if I decided to camp out in his living room in protest of his idiocy? After all, its a legitimate protest…

In the good ole’ days, a Global Studies degree was know as an MRS degree and she would be at home making me a sandwich. I guess this is the power of a modern liberal education…
What has this world come to?

These people just don’t get it. It doesn’t matter if the building is empty or not. It belongs to one person. By entering the premises, they have broken the law and need to be arrested. They are no different than other criminal.

What idiots! We are heading for a revolution. Come in my property and squat and you’ll face more than a call to the police.
