Gov. Perdue has hinted that she may consider vetoing SB 13 – largely because it would divert a small chunk of her corporate welfare bribe money economic development funds. She claims doing so would hurt job growth in NC.
The real reason she is upset about the thought of these funds being diverted to the General Fund is that funds like the One North Carolina Fund is really her re-election campaign money. Perdue loves these funds because they buy her positive press at ribbon-cutting ceremonies where she can claim credit for “creating jobs” – all at taxpayer expense.
Meanwhile, without these corporate welfare funds, the reductions to state employees will have to be more severe. One must ask Perdue, how many teachers will be fired so you can maintain your handouts to multi-billion dollar international corporations?
The teacher’s union awaits your answer.
