An old friend of Civitas, Max Borders, has launched a campaign to garner support for a crucial addition to the current conversation about envy and class warfare.
He’s written a book largely to counter the misguided and often belligerent assertions by the “Occupy Wall St.” crowd, and wants to fast-track its publication in order for it to have an impact on the hearts and minds of citizens in time to impact the 2012 elections.
You can check out the site for his book, entitled Superwealth, and consider pledging support and receive a copy of this book written by a talented, thoughtful, and passionate advocate for individual freedom.
As Max describes this book:
If The New York Times can trot out billionaires with guilt complexes, maybe someone out there will listen to a middle-class guy with a well-considered, well-researched case for why we should:
1. Stop worrying about The Gap,
2. Understand the true nature of wealth and poverty,
3. Stop demonizing the wealthy,
4. Focus on how best to help the poor, and
5. Learn to celebrate wealth creation.
With SUPERWEALTH, I have made an unapologetic case for the rich, their riches and the good they do in the world. I also offer some of their secrets on how they got that way… And who knows? I may get rich myself one day. It starts with abandoning legacy publishing. It all starts with you.

This is going in my Top Ten list of the most ignorant and behind the times posts of civitas. Please study economics or just America’s recent history and then post this again with a straight face. Since I think I am one of only about a dozen readers on this site your stupidity is pretty well hidden… but still… shame on you for even advancing such an inane idea… geez.

So I am to take it that “Ihatestupid” is opposed to someone writing and publishing a book that people are free to buy or ignore. He (or she) needs to change name to “ilikestupid”.
This is not even in the top 10 stupid comments from ihat….

I could go on but I have a “real job” and I cannot do all of Francis’s research for her. I am not a reverse snob- my family belongs to a ctry. club, but ethics mean more to me than money and God is my savior not the almighty dollar that Republicans’ worship.. call me old fashioned or stupid like Mr. De luca ( rolls off like H2O) but I miss the America where we didn’t have children homeless or starving so a millionaire can buy his 3rd wife another diamond watch at Tiffany’s. I will take an America with a healthy middle class over the Republican dream of gated neighborhoods and light-hued schools for their offspring any day– hey I’m an America it used to be a given that we are all equal but I recently asked my Senator a Republican and neighbor where did the American dream go? and he said in reply -the American dream isn’t for everyone …. nice huh… but a true gauge of your parties moral depletion.
