The North Carolina House and Senate gave final approval to the state budget bill for the biennium of FY 2013-14 and FY 2014-15. Legislators will make adjustments to the second year of the budget when they return for session in early 2014. Gov. McCrory is expected to sign the budget into law today. It would mark the first time in three years the North Carolina Governor approved the state budget, as former Gov. Perdue vetoed the last two budget bills with the legislature overriding both of those vetoes.
The Senate approved by a vote of 32-17 and the House 65-53. To see how lawmakers voted on the budget, click here and here.
