The political action committee (PAC) connected with the State Employees Association of NC (SEANC), apparently feels that campaign finance laws do not apply to it.
All political committees were required to report all contributions and expenses from the period of July 1-October 15 to the State Board of Elections by October 27.
The SEANC PAC has not done so, and was issued a non-compliance letter on November 12.
The public deserves, and state law requires, transparency regarding how much money is spent on influencing elections in North Carolina. It is a shame that the association that supposedly represents the employees of the state feels this isn't important.
