The school choice movement, which seeks to expand K-12 education opportunities through charter and private schools, has seen major gains in the past few years across the country. Most recently, a superior court ruled in favor of Arizona’s education savings accounts which makes money available to families to help with the expense of private schools. In light of these successes, the Civitas Institute and the Friedman foundation seek to encourage education reform in North Carolina.
The Civitas Institute and Friedman Foundation will be hosting a luncheon tomorrow, September 18 from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the Crabtree Marriott Hotel. Policy experts and legislators will be discussing school choice and education reform for the upcoming legislative session.
Guest panelists will include Paul DiPerna of the Friedman Foundation, Dr. Terry Stoops of the John Locke Foundation, and Lindsey Burke of the Heritage Foundation. In addition, House Majority Leader Paul Stam, Senator Jerry Tillman, and Representative Marcus Brandon will be a part of our legislative panel. We hope you can join us for this exciting and informative event. For more information and to register, please visit our website.
