Former State Rep. Charles Jeter announced in a March 1st column in the Charlotte Observer that he was no longer supporting the state’s Opportunity Scholarship voucher program. You can read Jeter’s reasons in the column, but you might also be interested to know that the former Mecklenburg County Republican also recently accepted a $91,000 a year job as a Government Relations Coordinator with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
As you might expect, Jeter’s column generated a fair amount of reader reaction, including one letter submitted by Janet Nunn and printed by the Charlotte Observer on March 6th. The letter is titled; My granddaughter is blossoming thanks to vouchers, Mr. Jeter.
Well said, Ms. Nunn! And keep up the good work, Nariah!
