Rep. David Lewis (R-Harnett) and Sen. Bob Rucho (R-Mecklenburg) will be holding hearings on the proposed congressional maps tomorrow, July 7. The meetings will be held at locations across the state from 3-9 pm. To sign up to speak, submit written comments, or view a full list of locations, visit the Joint Redistricting Committee’s website.
The last round of public hearings (held on June 23) was dominated by speakers from liberal special interest groups and the Democratic party. Tomorrow’s hearing is unlikely to be much different unless speakers sign up to present a conservative view of the new maps and redistricting process.
