Last night the Wake County School Board re-elected board chairman Ron Margiotta. The board also elected John Tedesco as board vice-chair – after 56 ballots. Yes, I said fifty six. WRAL broadcasts board meetings so let’s just say it probably wasn’t a “made for TV” event. In the end, Debra Goldman who has broken ranks with other four Republicans cast the deciding vote for Tedesco. I’m not going to waste any time detailing the obvious splits on the board….Suffice it to say it’s ironic how that final vote may help to heal one the board’s biggest rifts. … I guess a lot can happen after fifty-six ballots…..
