A three judge panel has dismissed many of the lawsuit complaints filed by the NAACP and Democrat groups over redistricting maps approved by the legislature. Those complaints dealt with accusations the maps were unconstitutional because of split counties and precincts. The dismissal leaves about half of the objections still to be decided by the special panel, including whether discrimination was a factor in drawing the maps.
The Senate Chairman of the Redistricting Committee, Sen. Bob Rucho (R-Mecklenburg) issued a statement on the dismissals.
“I am pleased that many of these frivolous complaints were dismissed today and am confident that once the facts are presented, the remainder of complaints will be tossed out.”

Mel Watts district is an absolute sham. Giving a person a seat in congress because of the color of their skin or what party they belong to is totally wrong.
