Whatever you think of the debate over illegal immigration there is no denying that Pareshkumar Shah would probably be alive today if the illegal immigrant Carlos Martinez Gonzalez was not in our country.
Of the news outlets reporting on this only WNCN reported that the Federal government wants to deport him when local authorities are done with him. Reports on the News and Observer and on WRAL-TV make no mention of this important fact. They do mention that he has been arrested for DWI before and did not have a drivers license. I guess WRAL and the N&O feel that leaving facts out of the story is justified to protect the ignorant masses. They view most of us as not being enlightened as they are on matters of breaking the law – repeatedly.
So let me see if I have this right, he is in the country illegally, multiple DWI’s and drove without a license but until he kills an innocent man while driving the wrong way on an interstate – we won’t kick him out of the country?
The media is right to focus on the horrible nature of this crime but they should also make readers and viewers more fully aware the person committing them not only had a record of the same type of crimes, but was in the country only because they committed a crime. WNCN got the story right. Most mainstream media outlets have stopped mentioning illegal immigration, even when it is clear they are dealing with an illegal immigrant.
If anyone is tallying – chalk up another death to our failure to enforce our borders and immigration laws, and to illegal immigration.

Yes George I deleted your insulting comment. There is no comparison between a killer who happened to be a christian and a killer who IS an illegal immigrant. How your fevered imagination came up with that comparison I can only guess. Please go back to your normal inane comments and I will see no need to delete them.
