We at Civitas usually update Votetracker every weekday morning based on data compiled earlier that morning by the NC State Board of Elections of the previous day’s returns.
It was business as usual this morning: I updated Votetracker around 8:30 this morning. Later this morning I found out that a couple thousand votes from yesterday were not included in today’s SBE data update for the September 10 elections. The SBE included those votes in an update later this morning, which I diligently added to Votetracker. However, that update also included over 1300 votes from this morning.
So, anyone checking out Votetracker over the weekend may get the impression that only 1300+ people voted today when the actual number will be several thousand votes higher. The correct number of votes for today will be shown on Votetracker with our next scheduled update on Tuesday, September 3.
