The State Board of Elections announced today that early voting turnout was at 199,904 votes cast as of 2 p.m. Friday. The SBOE said that this constitutes an overall increase in turnout of 0.8% over 2010. In addition to a shorter voting period this year (the 2014 primary is the first election cycle under a shortened 10-day early voting period), many of the state’s counties were affected by severe weather during the one-stop, early voting period.
