Why are teachers’ unions losing members? Some of the dissatisfaction most certainly stems from not sharing the same outlook. Two slides from a recent presentation on the history and status of teachers’ unions put together by Belllwether Education Partners help to answer that question. Simply stated, while the overwhelming majority of union political spending goes to Democrats, less than half of all educators identify as Democrats.
