“This is a great success story. Ninety-seven percent of students are going to be at where they want to be.”
That was Wake County Public Schools Superintendent Tony Tata commenting on the results of the Board of Education’s new student assignment plan…Though not perfect, the plan got the big things right and is a step in the right direction…The winners? Parents and students and all those who believe in parental choice and neighborhood schools. The new plan also validates much of the critique of the school assignment policy by the former school board majority. Big thanks to all who helped to make it a reality.
