The Center for Law and Freedom (CLF), a nonprofit public interest law firm housed within the Civitas Institute, provides free legal representation to North Carolinians facing violations of their constitutional or other legal rights.
Mapping the Left
The Mapping the Left (MTL) project combines data, research and news articles to show the magnitude of the radical Left’s infrastructure in North Carolina, which includes more than 140 activist organizations made up of more than 1,800 individuals working professionally to advance an extreme, big-government agenda. Also included in the database are more than 300 funders which have awarded grants in the hundreds of millions of dollars to the included organizations.
Carolina Elections
Carolina Elections is a website that houses two of Civitas’ most popular user-friendly election/political databases. First, NC Vote Tracker (ncvotetracker.com), allows you to track early voting data in North Carolina in real time. Second, the Voter Registration Database is updated every week with the latest voter registration statistics by county. It’s easy to use and allows you to see changes week by week, month by month and even year by year.

Center to Advance Economics
The first project of the Center to Advance Economics is an app introducing users to the basic principles behind the “Austrian School” of economic thought – the most decisive school of thought in taking down liberal economic policies. More content and lessons will be added soon.
Civitas Partisan Index
The CPI is a useful tool to take into account when looking at North Carolina’s legislative political landscape. It is used to study voting tendencies within a district and to identify districts that swing, lean, or firmly trend towards one political party or the other.
