Happy Thanksgiving, Civitalk listeners! This week, host Ray Nothstine and guest host Bob Luebke cover a state Supreme Court case that every parent and taxpayer should be aware of. Leandro v. State is a case over two decades old that asks, “What constitutes a ‘sound basic education?'” Yet a major concern that has cropped up surrounds whether courts have any constitutional authority to mandate a specific dollar amount for education spending. Bob and Ray will get into the importance of separation of powers and what this case means for our state. And since I was out of town at the time of this recording they will also revel in discussing sports (poor Ray doesn’t typically doesn’t have a co-host that can talk about such things when I’m around). Enjoy the episode and if you subscribe to us on iTunes, we appreciate you leaving a review of the episode. Those reviews enable us to reach more listeners. Thank you!
