Farage will give a keynote address at the conference’s Friday night dinner and will greet VIP attendees at a reception that evening.

Oh come on, seriously? You have invited a well known British fascisti, reviled in his own homeland by anyone outside of the extreme-right? This individual’s political party, UKIP, is a modern day variant of the skinhead movement, only this time they are turning up in suits hoping to be more acceptable to the uninformed voter. Mired in controversy and scandal, he is now vilified in the UK and despised throughout the rest of Europe. Is there nobody more controversial that Civitas could have picked?
Sadly, the audience that will turn up at this event have no knowledge of this individual outside what they have heard from the likes of Rush Limbaugh. I guess he’ll be in good company then.
Perhaps time for Civitas to rebrand itself as “North Carolina’s Fascist Voice”?
