The April edition NC Capitol Connection delves into Gov. Roy Cooper’s proposal to increase spending by over 5 percent. More recent budgets have seen an increase of 3 percent. Gov. Cooper wants to expand the already crowded Medicaid system which poses threats to the long-term sustainability of sound budgets.
A March Civitas poll found that President Donald Trump has hidden support in North Carolina. His favorability is above water at 49 percent, compared to 47 percent who have an unfavorable view of the president. More North Carolinians support the repeal of Obamacare (49 percent) compared to those who oppose the repeal (45 percent).
