A new Civitas Poll provides the most recent insights into what North Carolina voters are thinking leading up to the March 15 primary.
The live-caller poll asked 500 Democrats and 500 Republicans separately who their choice was for president. Voters were also asked about the gubernatorial and U.S. candidates, the NC bond, and all contested statewide races.
Our survey of 500 likely Democrat North Carolina primary voters has a margin of error of plus/minus 4.38 percent. The survey was taken March 3, 5-7, 2016.
Our survey of 500 likely Republican North Carolina primary voters has a margin of error of plus/minus 4.38 percent. The survey was taken March 5-7, 2016.

Fantastic news for Hillary!! Tell me is NC an “open” primary state?
Jacob says
Another poll that fails to disclose age demographics, use of landlines/cell phones, and the independent vote. In a semi-open primary, that info is crucial. I smell another Michigan in the books.
stupid poll says
Page 47 and 48 (last two pages in that crosstab) has the Bernie and Hillary reference. Yet from what I see bernie is winning according to those two pages……Maybe someone else can take a look but that’s what it looks like to me when Bernie has the higher percentage than Hillary in every demographic across the board…
Heisenbern says
Page 47 and 48 of the Crosstabs is showing responses for when Republican voters are asked who they would be more likely to see themselves voting for in the general (if they voted Democrat).
Brian Balfour says
The crosstab links are now fixed, we apologize for the mix-up. Respondents include likely primary voters, including independents. They were screened based upon which primary they said they are likely to vote in.
Demographic info included in the crosstabs include party registration (D, R and independent), region, age, gender, race, education level, income level, and self identified ideology.

George says
1/3 of NC Republican voters are about to be disrobed.
Sally Overington says
Worst campaign in history! Trump and Cruz are acting like two-year-olds! I’m republican and don’t even want to vote!!! They are forcing us to vote for Hillary Clinton and that woud be the worst disaster in history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are these men very representative for this great country of ours???? They ought to be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!! We are a “laughing stock” to the world. I’m ashamed of them! AND I’m very angry!! To give any donation is ludicrous!
Carol Loman says
Ted Cruz doesn’t realized that the GOP will drop him like a “Hot Potato” when the GOP no longer needs him to try and destroy Donald Trump. Ted Cruz needs to wake up.
victor feliciano says
People are clear, they know that the republican party is a party of politicians by the politicians for the politicians. In the other hand Trump believes in a party by the people for the people. It will be a matter of time,Trump will win the nominee for president of the U.S of america.Mark my words.
BRIAN Thomas says
When both sides go totally after someone.. when every possible flaw or mis-step is magnified to the absurd, when every episode is slanted, by every reporter and pundit… then we know for sure, that this person is with us and not with them. It all proves how much we need Trump. All the ‘clean??’, ‘proper??’ , ‘PC’s’ are what got us into the profound mess that now threatens to devour us. It will take a great warrior with a will of steel, and raw courage, to overcome the unthinkable troubles we face. It will take someone with the ability to do whatever it takes to save our America. We need Donald J. Trump, and only Trump. No one else can do it. TRUMP EM !!
G. Steen says
ONLY TRUMP CAN DO THE JOB
